About the Position

The Thread Together Wardrobe Volunteer supports clients by overseeing access to the clothing wardrobe located in our Women’s House Activity Room. This role ensures clients can receive material aid in a welcoming, organised, and dignified environment.

What we are looking for

We’re seeking a volunteer who is warm, approachable, and confident engaging with clients in a respectful and non-judgmental way.

You will be well-suited to this role if you:

  • Have good organisational skills and enjoy keeping spaces tidy and well-presented.
  • Are comfortable working independently, with support available when needed.
  • Can maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold SHM’s values
  • Are reliable and able to commit to a monthly shift.

About Sacred Heart Mission

Every day of the year, Sacred Heart Mission assists hundreds of people who are experiencing homelessness or disadvantage to find shelter, food, care and support. Through our wide-ranging homelessness services, research and innovation we strongly advocate for an inclusive, fair and compassionate community where people can overcome disadvantage and trauma.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support client access to the Thread Together wardrobe.
  • Distribute material aid, including clothing, toiletries, and available food items.
  • Maintain an organised and welcoming wardrobe environment.
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Communicate any issues, shortages or client needs to the program coordinator.

A minimum commitment of one shift per fortnight.

Shift times:

  • Tues – 9.45am – 12pm
