It’s the acts of kindness which will keep seeing everyone through this unprecedented time and we’re celebrating the beautiful outpouring of generosity, to help us keep our doors open.
Our long-time supporters Michael and Helen Gannon donated and delivered four full truckloads of brand new Perri Cutten clothes and accessories, for us to sell via our online op shop. These avenues are our only source of op shop funding, with all our shops currently closed, and we really appreciate the thoughtfulness and generosity.
Other acts of love from our supporters so far:
- Our friend Peter, from Geelong Mobile Coolrooms and Freezers, donated a freezer-size cool room for Sacred Heart Community and Meals Program.
- Better Life Mobile supplied more than 50 heavily discounted mobile phones for our clients, helping them to stay connected with our support workers.
- RACV has been providing and delivering 450 delicious vegetarian meals to our residents each week.
- PLUSPak Pty Limited donated a pallet full of takeaway containers for our Meals Program.
- Our friend Sean Breen from Conquer Finance donated over 5,500 chocolate eggs for our clients.
- Darrell Lea also provided us with 2,360 chocolate egg crates.
- Hundreds of litres of hand sanitiser has been provided courtesy of CUB, Peter Sheppard Footwear and C. Wallis Chemists and Sons. The latter also provided us with a huge donation of Personal Protection Equipment, toiletries and sanitary pads.
- TOM Melbourne donated protective face shields to our frontline workers.
- CK Store in Bentleigh donated 1,000 N95 masks and a $1,000 donation to purchase PPE items.
- Wenda Skerry, the mother of our staff member Trevor Skerry, donated a box of lovely hand-crocheted blankets and beanies for our clients accessing support in our COVID-19 Isolation and Recovery Facility.
- St Kilda Medical Group has committed to work with us just in case staff members need to test for COVID-19.
- Josh Burns, Federal Member for Macnamara, donated $1,000 toward the food and care packages we are handing out to people sleeping rough in our community.
- The Women for Women Committee, championed by Board Member, Carolyn Clark, has been instrumental in sourcing food and toiletries for these packs. Special shoutout to Caulfield Grammar School for packing and donating 100 packs for our clients.
- A delivery of 900 bars from Kind Snacks, which will be ongoing.
- The incredible donors giving with heart to our COVID-19 Emergency Appeal.
- Sanitarium Health Food Company donated 240 cases of cereal and So Good milk for client’s food packs.
- Procurement Australia gave a $500 Bunnings gift card to be used by our Rooming House Plus Program and Women’s House
- The Care Project at Caulfield Grammar School donated 450 personal care packs to the Mission and sorted/packed winter clothing donated by the Australian Defence Force for our clients.
- St Michael’s Grammar School donated over 700 much-needed non-perishable items to the Mission.
- Pinchapoo provided 500 basic care packs.
- Manrags donated vital socks and underwear to our clients.
- Intimo donated a large quantity of women’s bras, underwear and clothing to our clients
- Star of the Sea College donated supermarket gift choice cards and toiletry packs to the Women’s House, alongside a cash donation and handmade origami hearts with messages of support.
- Xavier College (Kostka Hall and Senior Campus) provided a large amount of foods for our Meals Program, as well as toiletries, socks and underwear for our clients. The Kostka Hall Parents Association also raised more than $4,000 for the Women’s House through an online family games night.
- Loreto Mandeville Hall donated over $700 worth of much-needed supermarket gift cards to the Mission for distribution to our clients, giving them the gift of choice.
