Volunteer

Op shop volunteers - St Kilda

We are looking for passionate retail enthusiast who wants to join our iconic store in St Kilda

Sacred Heart Mission is a local Melbourne charity focused on elevating disadvantage, social exclusion, and homelessness. Volunteering in our Op Shops is absolutely crucial to the rest of the Mission as they provide the funding that allows our other services to run. The St Kilda op shop is where it all started.

We are currently looking for someone with an eye for clothes and colours and who enjoys some creative visual merchandising. Our team in the St Kilda store are fun loving and hard working and welcome the community into their arms. In your work here you will come into regular contact with your clients, who often pop by after having a meal next door in our dining hall. Come be part of the team and lets make a difference. Every $4 earned by the stores goes directly to the meals program and provides hot food for those in need. You will literally see the difference you are making in people's lives.

Responsibilities:

Help provide a welcoming atmosphere, make the store look presentable, provide fantastic customer service, work the till and be part of a wonderful op shop team. And most importantly have fun!!

Commitment:

A half/full day weekly or fortnightly - days negotiable

Other:

Ideally we would like 4 hrs (10-2pm or 1-5pm) but that can be negotiated on a case by case basis. Especially weekends needed!!

To apply:

As part of the application process we will ask you to agree to a confidentiality agreement, Code of Conduct and be willing to undergo a police check.

If your interested to learn more about the Mission prior to applying please come to one of our informative volunteer sessions. You can register for the sessions online through our website.
