A fabulous volunteer opportunity supporting our Lifestyle team at Sacred Heart Community with their arts group and special events.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for an energetic volunteer to help support the Lifestyle team to run their art Group for residents and provide support to special events at Sacred Heart Community. The volunteer positions aims to encourage an environment that welcomes residents and builds community within the facility.
If you’ve got a creative flair we would love you to utilise this skill set to provide meaningful creative engagements for our resident group.

About Sacred Heart Mission
Every day of the year, Sacred Heart Mission assists hundreds of people who are experiencing homelessness or disadvantage to find shelter, food, care and support. Through our wide-ranging homelessness services, research and innovation we strongly advocate for an inclusive, fair and compassionate community where people can overcome disadvantage and trauma.
About Sacred Heart Community
Aged Care Residential Services provide a mix of low and high care services to residents at the Mission’s aged care facility on Grey St. Residents have histories of homelessness and disadvantage, many with a range of complex needs, resulting from negative life experiences including exposure to trauma and social isolation. The residential care offer a range of creative activities such as art, drama, craft, knitting, music, creative writing and storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Assisting Lifestyle staff with the facilitation of a broad variety of art/ craft activity sessions, music and/or drama sessions, special event prep including set up, project delivery and clean-up of session.
- Providing residents with meaningful social interaction and community engagement.
- Responsible in consultation with Staff for planning, designing and facilitating a schedule of activities
Commitment
Monday afternoons or Wednesday mornings weekly. There are also monthly creative events that you can be involved in.
