Run for our charity in Melbourne to get fit, challenge yourself and raise awareness and funds for a great cause: ending homelessness in Australia.

By going the extra mile for our community, you’ll help Sacred Heart Mission assist hundreds of people who are experiencing homelessness to find shelter, food, care and support.

  • February-March 2022 - Sunset Series 
    Track your fitness across three of Melbourne’s favourite running tracks - The Zoo, Princes Park and The Tan - all while supporting our community. You can choose between a 4K or 8K course.

  • April 2022 - Run the Rock 2022
    Set in the picturesque Hanging Rock, this run on 17 April 2022 is a great opportunity for you to unplug from the city streets while supporting Sacred Heart Mission. Registration closes on 16 April 2022.

  • April 2022 - Run the Tan 2022
    Run one lap around the iconic Tan Track on Sunday, 24 April 2022. Registration ends at 10am on the event day or until sold out.

    Mark your calendars for Australia's most stunning running event held in Lorne and Apollo Bay from 14 to 15 May 2022.

How does running for a cause work?

When you sign up for one of the running festivals we partner with, you can raise funds for Sacred Heart Mission at no additional cost to you or Sacred Heart Mission. During and after the registration process, you will be able to select the charity you want to fundraise for as well as your fundraising target. You will also be asked to set up a fundraising webpage to promote your cause. Don’t worry, this doesn’t take long and you will be guided through the process. Once your fundraising page is live, you can share it with your friends, family and workmates and ask them to support your run and your charity of choice by making a donation.

Can I take part in another run and fundraise for Sacred Heart Mission?

If you would like to do a charity run for people experiencing homelessness at a different running event in Australia, you can set up your personal fundraiser on Sacred Heart Mission’s My Cause page. How can I raise more funds?

We encourage you to personalise your fundraising page by adding photos of yourself and by sharing why you chose Sacred Heart Mission. You can also post training updates and fundraiser milestones on your social media accounts to keep your supporters up to date on your progress!

If someone can’t donate to your fundraiser, ask them to share your fundraising page instead.

To provide your friends and family with more information about Sacred Heart Mission, feel free to talk to them about the work Sacred Heart Mission has been doing in our community for 39 years. You can also share our information about homelessness in Australia with your supporters to highlight the importance of this cause.

How will you use the money I raise with my running fundraiser?

All funds raised will go directly to Sacred Heart Mission’s wide-ranging homelessness services, including Engagement Hubs like our Dining Hall. Keeping the doors of our Engagement Hubs open enables us to continue to offer people essential support, and provides the crucial first step for people on their journey out of homelessness.
