Hang Vo, Sacred Heart Mission's new CEO

Chris Stoltz AM, Chair of Sacred Heart Mission’s Board of Directors, announced today that after an extensive executive search process Hang Vo is to be the Mission’s new CEO.

Hang Vo has over 25 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector leading complex national and international programs. She will take up the role of Sacred Heart Mission CEO in December 2022 following the retirement of current CEO Cathy Humphrey.

For the past four years Hang has been CEO of Whitelion Youth, a national organisation devoted to supporting youth who are experiencing isolation and unemployment. Prior to this, Hang was the Director for Strategy, Planning and Development at EACH a health and community services organisation providing a range of health, disability, counselling and mental health services across Australia. She also held leadership roles at Australian Red Cross including overseas deployments, refugee services, strategy and governance.

“I’m delighted to welcome Hang Vo to the Sacred Heart Mission family,” Mr Stoltz said. “Her passion and dedication as a leader will further energise Sacred Heart Mission to build on its 40-year legacy of serving people experiencing homelessness and create opportunities for new services and greater advocacy.”

Hang Vo came to Australia as a part of the Vietnamese refugee ‘boat people’ seeking asylum in the late 1970s. Her first-hand experience of dislocation and exclusion drives her commitment for a more inclusive, equitable and just society.

Hang served a six-year term as Vice President for Australian Council of Social Services (ACOSS) and director at South East Community Links.

Hang has completed an executive education program at Harvard Business School, has an Executive MBA, degrees in Social Work and Arts, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
