Schools volunteering

Star of the Sea students in the Dining Hall with Chef Robyn ready for a volunteer shift

Learn about the different ways your school can get involved with volunteer work at Sacred Heart Mission.

Sacred Heart Mission welcomes student groups and teenagers aged 15 years and above to volunteer at our Meals Program and op shops.

The lunch shift is 9am-2pm and we can cater for a maximum of 4 students per shift (plus one teacher).

By engaging young volunteers, we also strengthen their social awareness around the issues affecting people who are experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.

For safety reasons, the Meals Program is only open to volunteering teens and students who are 15 years and over, who must be accompanied by a suitable supervisor. The lunch shift is 9am-2pm and we can cater for a maximum of four students per shift.
