Donate to our op shops
For our op shops to continue supporting the work of the Mission, we need quality goods donated to sell at the op shops. Donations of good quality furniture, books, clothes, shoes, accessories, bric-a-brac and household items are always needed and much appreciated.
Our free collection service will travel to your home or business to collect donated goods in a timely manner. Call (03) 8658 1698 to arrange a free donation collection.
Donate to our Meals Program
Our Dining Hall provides 400 free meals every day of the year to people who are experiencing homelessness and disadvantage. Almost all ingredients we use are either donated or rescued food (edible food that will otherwise go to waste).
Food and items we always need:
While our needs are changing all the time, below is a list of items that we always need to help keep our food bank cupboards stocked:
- Plain flour
- Rice (white long grain preferred)
- Honey
- Cereal – muesli
- Tinned chickpeas
- Tinned kidney beans
- Tinned lentils
- Tinned tomatoes
- Tomato paste
- Chicken, beef or vegetable stock
- Dishwashing liquid and washing up gloves
- Bottled water, 500ml
- Instant coffee
- Plain sweet biscuits
As our storage is limited, if you would like to donate food items or wish to arrange a collection of food donations on our behalf, please contact our reception on (03) 9537 1166 or email info@sacredheartmission.org.
Other donations
As a general rule, Sacred Heart Mission does not accept unsolicited donations of goods, excluding op shop donations and donations to our Dining Hall. However, there may be exceptions if such donations are suitable and needed by our programs.
For all other donations, please email our reception at info@sacredheartmission.org or call (03) 9537 1166.
