Community groups and schools

If you are considering supporting people experiencing homelessness through your school or community, you will find a rich, rewarding and engaging collaboration awaits you and your stakeholders.

Partnering with Sacred Heart Mission is a great example of how you, your community group, or your school is contributing to a socially just society.

Your stakeholders will gain an important connection to their community, increasing their awareness of the issues facing people experiencing homelessness and will gain a real sense of helping people.

We currently offer volunteering opportunities at our op shops and our Community Visitor program. All other programs are at capacity or don’t have a need for volunteers at the moment.

Sacred Heart Mission has introduced a policy of mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for all staff, volunteers and contractors within our organisation. To keep everyone safe, you must provide evidence of your vaccination if you want to volunteer with us. For more information, visit our COVID-19 FAQs.

Community group and school volunteering

Sacred Heart Mission welcomes student and community groups aged 15 years and above to volunteer at our Meals Program and op shops.

Fundraising

Do you have an event in mind? Would you like to raise money for SHM by running, swimming or cycling? Are you thinking of donating to Sacred Heart Mission instead of asking for wedding or birthday gifts? Or maybe your are collecting meaningful donations from people in memory of a loved one.

Whatever you are thinking of doing, it’s easy to raise money to support people in our community. Visit the My Cause website: ready-made for you to raise funds for Sacred Heart Mission.
