Tai Chi or Dance Instructors

Sacred Heart Mission is a local Melbourne charity focused on elevating disadvantage, social exclusion, and homelessness. Volunteering in our wellbeing program is a wonderful and engaging experience that directly support these goals and values, allowing for the support of those facing hardship to continue.

We are looking for Tai Chi or Dance instructors to help us start up a course for our clients as part of our wellbeing program. Do you burn up the dance floor all night long? Or do you find your centre and strength by grounding yourself in tai chi? And do you have experience in teaching dancing and tai chi? Then put your skills to use with our clients. Staying active and learning new skills is a priority for our clients at SHM. You will be leading the class so an background in movement breakdowns and lesson plans is desirable. Doing physical exercise and moving plays an important part in mental health so come and support our clients to get moving and grooving.

87 Grey St, St Kilda

Provide a supportive and welcoming environment for clients to join the course. You would be in charge of leading and teaching the course. Having worked with our client group will be an advantage but isn't necessarily a must have. Being able to motivate and encourage is an important factor as some of our clients can be disengaged in the beginning.

1-2 hr commitment on a regular basis (can be weekly or fortnightly) during business hours so that our staff can be on site to support the course.
