Volunteer

Warehouse volunteers - Preston

We are looking for some dedicated and practically-minded volunteers who can help us with the flow of donations behind the scene at our Preston Op Shop.

Sacred Heart Mission is a local Melbourne charity focused on elevating disadvantage, social exclusion, and homelessness. Our Op Shops are absolutely crucial to the rest of the Mission as they provide the funding that allows our other services to run.

We are currently looking for someone can help us with a variety of warehouse tasks, such as manage the influx of donations from the local community, help move our goods so that we can ensure an efficient and consistent flow of donations, while keeping the workspace safe. Having some extra hands on deck to support staff from intake to sorting to organising the back of house will be hugely beneficial, as it will mean more stock can flow out into the shop and help us support our client programs across Melbourne. If you love organising, dont mind getting your "hands dirty" and enjoy physically seeing what you have achieved in a day then we need you! Come join the team.

Responsibilities:

Help accept new donations into the store, rotate stock, manage the flow of donations, cooperate with our partner organisations and support staff in keeping the front of house stocked. And most importantly have fun!!

Commitment:

A half/full day weekly or fortnightly - days negotiable

Other:

Ideally we would like 4 hrs (10-2pm or 1-5pm) but that can be negotiated on a case by case basis.

To apply:

As part of the application process we will ask you to agree to a confidentiality agreement, Code of Conduct and be willing to undergo a police check.

If your interested to learn more about the Mission prior to applying please come to one of our informative volunteer sessions. You can register for the sessions online through our website.
