Volunteer

Music Instructor

Sacred Heart Mission is a local Melbourne charity focused on elevating disadvantage, social exclusion, and homelessness. Our wonderful well-being program offers many different activities for our clients and allows them to enjoy a variety of hobbies and further their skills.

We are looking for someone with a teaching or music therapy background to facilitate an enthusiastic music group at Sacred Heart Mission’s Grey St. Engagement Hub. This opportunity would suit someone who is a confident and strong facilitator and who is able to encourage participation on a range of different levels.  We can provide an assortment of musical instruments as well as staff to co-facilitate and support.

Location:

Grey St, St Kilda

Responsibilities:

Lead and assist running a weekly group singalong session for our clients. The group size can vary and ideally we want someone who can motivate and engage our client group and get them excited about all things musical. Someone who can ignite the passion for music in others will be very well received by our group of excited beginners.

Commitment:

Weekly Wednesday mornings 10.45am – 12.15pm

To apply:

As part of the application process we will ask you to agree to a confidentiality agreement, Code of Conduct and be willing to undergo a police check.

If your interested to learn more about the Mission prior to applying please come to one of our informative volunteer sessions. You can register for the sessions online through our website.
