Dee's home at Queens Road Rooming House

Did you know that one in every 215 people will be homeless tonight in Australia?

Dee* used to be one of those people. You probably know her story by now; before finding herself homeless, Dee survived a tough childhood, and faced mental health challenges all her life.

Fortunately, Dee found a home at our Queens Road Rooming House. This gave her the stability she needed to get regular support, take art therapy classes and further her education.

“I found the staff really helpful, you could go to them with any problems. They put me through two hospitality courses, and the art program was brilliant.”

Since 2005, the Queens Road Rooming House has empowered people with histories of chronic homelessness to break the cycle of disadvantage. Residents are part of a community. They can have a chat in the dining room, garden in the veggie patch, take part in art therapy sessions, exercise at the gym, and take music lessons too.

Your gift will have a tangible impact in the lives of people overcoming disadvantage.

Anyone who comes to the Mission receives more than a handout. What they get is a whole community of supporters behind them, people like you helping them succeed.

Because of everything Dee achieved at the Queens Road Rooming House, she was able to reconnect with her sons and now leads a healthy, happy life.

Your gift will mean so much to people affected by homelessness.
